Splash Academy (Kids Club)
Splash Academy (introduced during 2012) is Norwegian’s new kids program designed specifically to engage children aged 6 months – 12 years old.
Activities range from learning to juggle and tumble at circus school with Cirque du Jour presented by Hilario Productions and educational and fun arts & crafts projects; to age appropriate Wii™ games and a surround sound cinema.
Splash Academy is divided into four different age groups:
Guppies: 6 months - 2 yrs (at least one parent must remain with children in this age group)
Turtles: 3 - 5 yrs.
Seals: 6 - 9 yrs.
Dolphins: 10 - 12 yrs.
Norwegian Youth Staff are not permitted to change nappies/diapers or pull-ups and so if guest’s children are not toilet trained parents are given beepers or handy phone to alert them should their child need changing. Beepers and handy phones do not work ashore, so at least one parent will have to stay on board when their children are in the Youth Program.
Only authorised adults 18 years of age or older may sign children ages 3-12 in and out of Splash Academy. The authorised adult, 18 years of age or older, must be listed with proper signature on the Registration Form and have their Key Card ready for drop off and pick up.
Dolphins (children aged 10-12) can be authorised by their parents to sign themselves in and out of program after 2 hours of active participation in the program. A parent must sign in the child on the first visit. This authorisation ends nightly at 10:30 pm and does not apply to Port Play or Late Night Fun Zone. Late Night fees begin at 10:45 pm.
Splash Academy’s hours are:
Embarkation Day: 8:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Port Days: Departure from Port to 10:30 pm
Sea Days: 9:00 am – 10:30 pm
Tree Top Kids Club
The Kid’s Centre, midship of deck 12 accommodates children from the age of 6 months to 12 years of age (under 2’s have to be supervised by parents at all times).
The centre features a cinema, interactive dance mat, video jukebox and large flat screen TV with PlayStation®3 and Wii™ gaming area, six computers and an arts and craft area along with an indoor jungle gym/obstacle course and viewing area for parents.
Within the kids centre is a room called the under 2 zoo dedicated to under twos where parents can accompany them and enjoy age appropriate activities.
Sapphire Kid's Pool (Kids Pool)
Outside the Tree Tops Kid’s Club on deck 12 is a covered 0.25m deep splash pool with an elephant shaped slide.
Deck 15 also features a splash pool with a large oversized shower head and splash area featuring a large model of a seal balancing a ball on its nose.
(Nappies/diapers of any sort are not allowed in any pools due to hygiene reasons).
Video Arcade (Kids Area)
The Video Arcade is located by Wipe Out Teen’s Club on deck 12 and is open 24 hours a day, featuring 37 machines where kids (and adults) can enjoy car and motorbike simulator racing arcade games, shooting games, Guitar Hero or try their luck on a grab machine. (Charges apply).
Entourage (Teen Club)
Entourage is Norwegian’s program for teens ages 13-17. Activities on offer range from sporting activities including basketball and football to theatre or fashion workshops, pool parties and themed events such as a vampire scary movies night.
Wipe Out Teens Club (Teen Club)
Wipe Out Teen’s Club on deck 12 midship, caters for 13 to 17 year olds and is the ideal place for teens to hang out complete with plasma TV’s, Playstation®3, video jukeboxes, table football, dance floor and non alcoholic bar.
The programme provided for the teens, known as Entourage ranges from football, basketball, Frisbee and interactive pool parties to theatre and fashion workshops, movie nights and karaoke.
It can accommodate 60 teenagers.
Baby Sitting
No private or in-room babysitting is available on any of Norwegian's ships.
Port Play
Norwegian Jade offers Port Play when the ship is docked in port which is a complimentary group-sitting program for children aged 3-12 years old.
A minimal fee ($6 per child/per meal) is charged during meal times. Port Play is run by the Youth Staff in the Splash Academy Facility and parents are advised to sign up in advance due to limited places.
Hours of Operation are:
Port Day: Arrival into Port – Departure from Port
Overnight In Port: Arrival in Port – 8 pm

Late Night Fun Zone
Between 10.30pm and 1.30am, Norwegian Jade provides the “Late Night Fun Zone”, a group-sitting service for children ages 3-12 years old run by the Youth Staff in the Splash Academy Facility.
Parents are advised to sign up in advance due to limited availability and if no children are signed up or dropped off by 11:30 pm, the youth centre closes for the evening.
The Late Night fee is charged to guest’s on-board account. A 15 minute transition time is offered before charges apply from Splash Academy to Late Night.
Charges for the late night fun zone are $6.00 per hour per child and $4.00 per hour per child for each additional sibling.
