Casseroles aren't the only things you can bake in a 9x13 dish. You can use this beloved kitchen workhorse to bake breads like focaccia, cornbread, pull-apart rolls, and sweet buns as well. While breads that bake from a batter, such as cornbread, need to be contained within the four walls of the dish, there's also an advantage to baking yeasted bread rolls and buns in a 9x13 instead of on a sheet pan. The walls encourage upward rather than outward expansion as the dough bakes, resulting in taller, fluffier bakes. Scroll through to get easy bread recipes that use a 9x13 baking dish.

Homesteader Cornbread
View Recipe
"My husband and I have made this recipe several times and we love it," says community member FUNKYDEMON. "This is a sweet dense cornbread but I find that it's sweetness is a good complement to a spicy chili. It keeps fairly well but any cut edges will dry out quickly — however since the bread is dense it will still be moist just beyond the cut edge. Only cut off as much as you plan to eat at a time. We also like this at breakfast with a little molasses."
